Adacao's Mock Trial team consists of two groups of fourth and fifth grade students. Managed by 5th grade teacher, Mrs. Tillie Blas, the team has represented the school at the Judiciary of Guam in conjunction with the annual Law Week festivities. The club offers students the opportunity to audition for a part/character that will enable them to understand the court system. Students are presented with scripts that portray various roles such as defense and prosecuting attorneys, defendant, plaintiff, clerk of court, bailiff, jurors, and judge. The students role play specific scenarios from a variety of children's stories and/or movies. Participation in this club also encourages public speaking and aims at providing possible avenues for future careers in the judiciary system. Furthermore, this provides a pathway for our students to consider future competitive participation as they move on to high school.
