The National Elementary Honor Society (NEHS) was established in 2008 by the National Association of Secondary School Principals (NASSP) in cooperation with the National Association of Elementary School Principals (NAESP) to recognize elementary aged students in both public and non-public elementary schools for their outstanding academic achievement and demonstrated personal responsibility, to provide meaningful service to the school and community, and to develop essential leadership skills in the students.
Adacao Elementary was proud to establish its NEHS Chapter in 2013. Teacher recommendation and academic excellence is the first step into being considered for candidacy. After completing the first phase, students undergo an interview by a faculty council to determine final membership into this prestigious organization. An induction ceremony is held, allowing members to take their oath to maintain the highest standards of each pillar: scholarship, responsibility, service, and leadership.
